Wax melts can be a fire risk if they’re not used properly.
A few simple things to remember:
- Always use a wax melter made for wax melts
- Keep them well away from curtains, bedding and furniture
- Avoid melting wax for more than 4 hours at a time, as it can overheat and catch fire
- Don’t leave them unattended
- Always extinguish wax melts if you’re leaving the room or going to bed and if you’re using an electric wax melter, make sure it’s switched off
